Cimberio closed the account with Amicacci Giulianova and made a leap in its history: for the first time the team of the president Carlo Marinello and Antonio Bazzi reached the semi-final of the championship.
For the first time this year in the Palawhirlpool sports arena and in front of almost 600 persons, the team of Daniele Riva won definitely with three players with double number score and with all his athletes successful (with the exception of Damiano, excellent organizer with just one throw).
It is rather impossible to make a classification of the Varese players, they all played good, both the ones who made a very good match (Kim 9/17 and 6 rebounds, Geninazzi 7/14, 10 rebounds, 4 stops and 3 assists, Blomquist 6/11, 8 rebounds and 8 assists), and the ones who sacrificed a lot in defence (Damiano and Roncari). At the same time, the ones who in fez minutes realized a lot (Marinello 2/2 and one assist, Silva 2/3, Mazzolini 1/1, 2 rebounds and one assist in just 7 minutes).
Now the Roman adventures begins: next Saturday Cimberio will be in Rome for the first game of the semi-final, scheduled the best for the three matches. The way is getting harder for Geninazzi and company because Santa Lucia (who plays on Sunday afternoon, but it is already passed to the next turn because it won the away game) is the favourite. Nevertheless, Cimberio wants to try and in any case, they will live the emotion of playing two more enthusiastic games at least.
