The English term “whistleblowing” refers to the act of “blowing the whistle” and is associated with the concept of reporting, denouncing, or, in informal terms, “tipping off.”

In our case, whistleblowing refers to the action taken by a person (employee, supplier, customer, or external collaborator) who, in the course of their duties within the organization they belong to, reports unlawful conduct, dangerous situations, or risks that could cause harm to third parties.

With the approval of Legislative Decree No. 24 of March 10, 2023, which established the whistleblowing procedure, the legislator has also introduced specific regulations to protect individuals who report unlawful conduct they become aware of in the course of their work.
