Over 150,000 bees and three queens — Cleopatra, Isabella, and Margherita — are now part of our family.
Cimberio’s commitment to sustainability is real, tangible, and demonstrated through daily actions. Today, we take another step forward, extending a hand to our planet.
On the lawn of our Berzonno plant, three branded beehives, hosting approximately 150,000 bees, have found a home.
Aware of the effects of climate change on these crucial pollinators, we’ve chosen to expand our family through a project that includes educational events, workshops, and guided tours focused on the world of bees.
By year-end, we’ll all get to taste their honey!
“Our family has grown—from 200 members to 150,000—thanks to our new beehives and their three queens, named with the initials of our logo: Cleopatra, Isabella, and Margherita.
These new collaborators will help us improve the environment, protect our planet, and bring us closer to the fascinating world of bees. In December, we’ll celebrate by tasting the fruits of their hard work—their delicious honey!”
Roberto Cimberio
CEO Cimberio S.p.A.
Bees are essential to life on our planet because they play a key role in biodiversity conservation and food production. Unfortunately, the indiscriminate use of pesticides and the spread of intensive agriculture pose a threat to the survival of pollinators.
These factors are also compounded by the worsening climate crisis, which alters the normal cycle of the seasons and jeopardizes the presence of regular blooms necessary for bee life. It is estimated that 70 percent of fruits and vegetables and 35 percent of every food we eat depends on the pollination work of bees. The economic value of their business has been calculated to be around $570 billion per year.
This is why initiatives such as the one started by Cimberio take on crucial importance, as they demonstrate how companies can commit to environmental sustainability and pollinator protection
