Società Benefit is among the 230 Italian companies awarded this year by UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, with the “Welcome. Working for Refugee Integration” logo.
The ceremony took place on 18 June 2026 at the Mario Arcelli Auditorium of Luiss Guido Carli University in Rome, as part of the celebrations for World Refugee Day, which this year coincides with the 75th anniversary of the 1951 Geneva Convention. Cimberio’s CEO, Roberto Cimberio, received the award on behalf of the company.
UNHCR Italy’s Welcome programme has reached its eighth edition. In 2025 more than 18,600 professional placements were activated for refugees, a 15% increase on the previous year, bringing the total to 69,000 placements since the programme was launched in 2017. The manufacturing sector accounts for 17% of the awarded companies.
“We receive this recognition with sobriety, because it does not represent a finish line but the confirmation of a direction of work”, said Roberto Cimberio, CEO of the company. “The refugees who work in our departments are colleagues who do their job, contribute to the company’s results and to the quality of our daily work. The credit for this logo is theirs before ours. What we can say is that, from a story that began in 1927, Cimberio tries to remain in its own territory, doing its job well and taking care of the people who make it possible”.
The UNHCR recognition is part of a broader path of social and environmental responsibility, reflected in the company’s Benefit Corporation status, in its PdR 125 gender equality certification and in the annual publication of a Sustainability Report. Recent initiatives include the Abbraccio Award by Fondazione San Patrignano, the support for the construction of a water supply system in Gishikanwa, Burundi, and the educational activity of Fondazione Cimberio Academy.
