Basket of handicapped people, painless stop
After two successes, the positive performance of Cimberio breaks, forced by Montello Bergamo that in this manner maintains its invincibility and continues to lead the ranking together with PDM Treviso. It’s a defeat that, as the previous in Turin and the other against Genoa, leaves many regrets. At five minutes from the end, Raniero Bassi’s team led in the score and, at 2’30” from the conclusive siren (42-44), it had all the possibilities to achieve the two points. Once again Cimberio expiated its initial irritability that gave the guests the chance to go away at the beginning of the match (3-11 at 6’).
During the restart Cimberio appeared less anxious and definitely determined to bridge the gap. In the attack the play was fluid and the rediscovered precision of Roncari, Mazzolini and Geninazzi allowed the team of Raniero Bassi to arrive near the margin.
Two consecutive shots of captain Riva allowed Cimberio to hook up again with Montello at share 30 (29’).
In the last quarter another shot of Riva gave Cimberio the unique advantage (36-34 at 32’) and also a more concrete hope of victory. The last tie (38-38) at 35’, then in the last two minutes the scores of the uncontrollable Pedretti offered the victory to the team of Montello Bergamo, punishing undeservedly the team from Varese.
